The General

One step at a time, inside the palace.

1. The general (帅 for Red, 将 for Black) is the most important piece. If your general is trapped, you lose.
2. The general moves one point at a time along a line: forward, back or sideways. It never moves diagonally.
3. Move your general to collect both stars. Remember: it can't leave the palace.
4. The black chariot gives check along the file! Move your general out of its line.
5. Can the general leave the palace?
